Samiran Das has nearly four decades of experience in the foods & beverages, Chemicals and Pharmaceutical industries for their India based/headquartered operations. His experiences in Strategy and Supply Operations include conceptualization and implementation of financially viable, growth-focused and cost/service-optimized supply networks. Along with the above, he held direct accountability of many functional verticals like manufacturing, logistics, procurement, 3P operations, projects, engineering, continuous improvement, science and technology, quality and operations excellence.

He was a member of the executive/management councils of the companies he was associated with over the last 20 years. He was also involved in and accountable for development and execution of multi-year strategies for the businesses and his core functions respectively.

He believes these multi-company/multi-functional exposures have deepened his values, which are based on encouraging all aspects of diversity, leveraging cultural differences including the power of people and strong ethics. He believes these complement the individual’s functional skills.

Significant experiences include:

  • Executive Director – Technical Operations at a leading Food and Beverage Organization
    Samiran was responsible for conceptualizing and implementing a supply strategy to meet the region’s growth aspiration in an aggressive yet business responsible manner. The role oversaw all the company and franchise-owned supply operations, totaling over forty manufacturing units and their associated support systems. The design and execution of an optimized network and operation was a critical success factor as was the conceptualization of the growth strategy itself.
  • India Region CEO – of a global bio-fuel startup. His responsibilities included establishing the company in India and pulling together an organization to establish a revenue stream within three years and to build commitment for the nascent sector among all stakeholders, i.e. the bureaucracy, the government, employees and the public.
  • Executive VP and Head Global Manufacturing and Supply Operations at a leading global Pharmaceutical Organization
    He oversaw the company’s global manufacturing and supply chain network and assets. The Continuous Improvement, Projects, Engineering and Capacity/Capability Building verticals directly reported to him, while the support functions of Finance and HR had a matrix reporting relationship.
